Club News 20th November 2018 - 20/11/2018

Carbery Rangers Gaa Club AGM takes place this Friday November 23rd in The Celtic Ross Hotel at 7-30pm. All are welcome to attend.

On Saturday the U16's played Gabriel Rangers in The Premier 2 U16 Football League Semi-final in Newtown. There is always very little between these two teams  and in a game of two halves Gabriel's won 2-11 to 1-09.
Playing with the wind in the first half, Gabriel's goaled immediately,  but Ross replied with a point from Cristeoir Hayes. It was all Gabriels for the next fifteen minutes,  the strong wind was a huge advantage and they scored 1-05 before Ross got their second score of the game, a point from Conor Twomey to make it 2-06 to 0-02 to the visitors. Ross tried hard to get the ball into the Gabriel's half and but for a great save from Araon O Brien,  who had a great game in the Ross goal, the score at half time could have been a different story.  Points from Caolan Hayes and Harry Oates from a free, and two from Gabriel's gave them the lead at half time 2-08 to 0-04.
Gabriel's almost goaled on the restart, another magnificent save from the Ross keeper denying them. Two points from Harry Oates and the hard working  Barry Kerr pulled  Gabriel's lead back and the goal Ross needed came on the 12th minute of the half from Harry Oates after good work by Caolan Hayes,  to make it 2-10 to 1-06. Ross were on top now , defending well and working hard. The next ten minutes saw Ross dominate and 2 further points from Harry Oates and Barry Kerr had Gabriel's ahead by just 5 with twelve minutes remaining.  Both teams gave it their all for the remainder of the match  Gabriel's getting another point before once again Barry Kerr pointed . But time was up and Gabriel's won 2-11 to 1-09.
