Minor Footballers
Ross minor footballers are through to the next round of the Premier 2 football Championship after beating Ballincollig in the first round in Cloughduv last Wednesday night on a final score of 1-16 to 1-7.

Both teams traded points early on before Ross settled and took a firm grip on proceedings to score six points without reply, through Mark Hodnett, Daragh Hayes and Paul Hodnett. Ballincollig responded with a pointed free and then found the back of the Ross net to make it 1-2 to 0-7 to Ross with 18 minutes gone. Further points from Mark & Paul Hodnett and Daragh Hayes and a penalty scored by Mark Hodnett after Chris Prendergast was fouled meant Ross finished the half strongly and lead at half time on a score of 1-12 to 1-3.

The second half was tough and physical and Ballincollig were first to score but three unanswered points from Ross killed the game as a contest and they won out on a final score of 1-16 to 1-7.
