Good win for under 16's in league / No lotto winner - 12/09/2017

Under 16 footballers
The under 16 footballers played St Finbarr's in the premier 1 league on Monday evening in Ardagh and while the score-line suggests differently it was a tough and physical contest with the Ross lads winning on a score of 6-10 to 1-12.

The visitors opened the scoring with a point, but Ross replied with points from Eoghan Hayes, four points from Paul Hodnett and two goals from JP Eady. Ross were unlucky not to be further ahead at half time and some brilliant defending, by Kieran O Regan in particular had Ross leading at half time on a score of 2-6 to 0-4.

The second half continued like the first, with Ross playing very well as a team going forward and excellent defending, while Aaron O'Brien pulled off some brilliant saves. Good play resulted in a goal from JP Eady and three goals from Paul Hodnett and Killian Keane then finished off a great move with a good point. The Barrs continued to apply pressure until the final whistle but found it hard to breakdown a tough Ross defence, resulting in Ross winning on a final score of 6-10 to 1-12.
