Bill Harte receives GAA President Award / West Cork Hero - Mick O'Sullivan / No Lotto Winner / Under 15's and Seniors both get good wins in their leagues / Upcoming fixtures - 14/03/2017

GAA President's Award
Congratulations to Bill Harte, who received a Presidential award from GAA President, Aogán Ó Fearghail in Croke Park on Friday night last, March 10th. The awards, organised with the support of club championship sponsors AIB and broadcast by TG4 are staged annually by the GAA and provide the GAA President with an opportunity to acknowledge outstanding commitment and long service across the club, and county network from people whose highly valued contribution may not be recognised on the national stage. This was a great achievement and recognition of all the work that Bill has done for the GAA over the years.

West Cork Hero Award
Well done also to Mick O'Sullivan who recently won the inaugural West Cork hero award held in the Celtic Ross Hotel. 

We had no winner of this week's jackpot, the numbers drawn were 2, 18 and 41. Consolation prizes: €50 John O'Dwyer, Cork City; €30 Mary Lane, Rossa Ave; €20 Eric Beamish; €20 voucher sponsored by O'Reilly's Centra - Pascal O'Brien, South Square. Next weeks draw will take place in the Pike Bar with a jackpot of €4,800.

Under 15's
Well done to the under 15 footballers who had a very good win over Gabriel Rangers last Saturday on a final score of 3-8 to 1-11, with the goals coming from Ciaran Santry, Evan Browne and Jack Kevane.

Kelleher Shield
The senior footballers travelled to Baltimore last Sunday to play Ilen Rovers in the Kelleher Shield and came away with full points, winning out on a final score of 3-10 to 2-9. Ilen started the game well and 2 early goals saw them build up a 6 point lead, but good work from the Ross lads saw them reduce the lead and a goal from a John Hayes penalty left the teams level at half time on a score on 2-3 to 1-6. Second half goals from Brian Shanahan and Kieran Fitzpatrick helped the Ross lads to win out on a score of 3-8 to 2-9.

Upcoming Fixtures
The under 21 championship game against Ilen Rovers has been refixed for Sunday, March 19th at 3pm in Ardfield, note the change of venue. Also, on Sunday morning of March 19th, the senior footballers travel to Togher to take on St.Finbarr's at 11am in the Kelleher Shield and the under 14's travel to Trabeg to play Nemo Rangers at 11.30am. Then on Saturday March 18th, the under 16's are down to play Ballincollig at home at 1pm. Please check locally to make sure that these fixtures haven't changed or cancelled due to the weather.
