Hard luck to the Scor team in the All-Ireland final / No winner of Lotto / Good opening day wins for both the Senior and Junior footballers against Castlehaven - 17/02/2017

Hard luck to the Ballad group who were narrowly defeated in the the All Ireland Scór na nÓg Final in Belfast. Joan, Aoife, Orlagh, Kate and Rachel's did themselves and the club proud, Well done to all involved and to the many supporters who travelled to Belfast last weekend.
 
Best of luck to the local children who are competing in the Carbery Final of Scór na bPáistí 2017 on Sunday next the February of 19th at 2:00pm in Ballydehob. Stephen Daly, Adam Baker, Finn Hayes, Ellie Mc Carthy, Emer Mc Carthy, Orla Tobin, Máire Lane and Emily Hodnett will compete in The Leiriú competition, while Cian Barry, Eamon Hodnett and Kevin Duffy will compete in the Quiz competition.


 
Lotto
We had no winner of this week's jackpot, the numbers drawn were 32, 40 and 45. Consolation prizes: €50 Jean Dignan, Tullig; €30 Sinead Barry, Tinnell; €20 Karen Rick, Tullineaskey; €20 James Ronan, Maul. Next weeks draw will take place in the Abbey Bar with a jackpot of €4,000.

Kelleher Shield
The senior footballers opened their 2017 season with a good win over Castlehaven in the Kelleher Shield on Sunday last in Rosscarbery on a score line of 5-7 to 1-11. First half goals from Chris O'Donovan, Alan Jennings, Mark and Padraig Hodnett gave Ross a lead at half time on a score of 4-3 to 0-8. James Fitzpatrick finished the scoring for Ross with a goal late in the second half to give them a good opening day win. Thanks also to the Castlehaven team who gave the Carbery Rangers team a guard of honour before the game.

Well done to the Junior 1 footballers who also opened their 2017 season last weekend, with a win over Castlehaven on Saturday last in Rosscarbery on a final score of 1-16 to 3-8.

Upcoming Fixtures
On Sunday next the 19th of February, the Junior footballers play Muintir Mhaire in the league at 2.30pm in Durras. While on Saturday week, February the 25th, the minor footballers start their year with an away game against Ballincollig at 2pm. And also on the 25th, the under 15's kick off their year with an away game against St. Finbarr's in Togher at 3pm. Please check locally to make sure that these fixtures haven't changed.
