Seniors continue their good form in Kelleher Shield / Under 16's beat Bandon in league / Under 15's lost to a strong Carrigaline team - 15/08/2016

Kelleher Shield
The senior footballers took on Clyda Rovers in the Kelleher Shield on Sunday morning last in Rosscarbery and in a high scoring game won on a final score of 0-24 to 3-10.
 
Ross started the game well, but two goals from Clyda just before half time gave them a one point lead at the break on a score of 2-6 to 0-11. After the break, Clyda added another goal to push them further in front. The Ross lads responded well to this set back to kick some excellent points and finished the game strongly, kicking 24 points in the game to leave them with a 5 point win in the end.

Under 16 footballer's
On Friday night last, August 5th the under 16's played Bandon in the Premier 2 league in Bandon and came away with a good win on a final score of 1-10 to 1-13.
 
Ross played well in the first half and went in at half time leading 0-3 to  0-6. Within ten minutes of the restart Bandon came back into the game, but a goal from John Patrick Eady put the Ross lads back in front on a score of 0-8 to 1-6. Bandon had a player sent off with 15 minutes to go, Ross pushed on to win on a final score of 1-10 to 1-13

Under 15 footballer's
On Saturday August 8th, the under 15's were beaten by Carrigaline in their Premier 1 league game played in Newtown on a final score of 2-12 to 1-10.
 
Ross started well and were ahead 3 points to 1 when Carrigaline got their first goal to go in front and at half time Ross were down 0-7 to 1-05. The second half saw a Barry Kerr goal quickly to put Ross ahead by 2 points. Carrigaline responded well to this and scored a second goal to win on a score line of Carbery Rangers 1-10 to Carrigaline 's 2-12.

Upcoming Fixtures
The under 16 footballers are down to play Ilen Rovers on Friday the 12th of August in the league in Rosscarbery at 8pm. While in championship,  the under 18 footballers are down to play on Tuesday August 16th against the winners of the Buttevant and Ilen Rovers game. The under 16 footballers are also in championship action next week, against Bandon on Friday August 19th with a venue yet to be confirmed. Please check locally to make sure that these fixtures haven't changed.
