Kelleher Shield
The senior footballers opened their 2016 season playing Ballincollig away in the Kelleher Shield last Sunday. In an entertaining game, Ballincollig scored an equalising point from a free to level the score at the end of the game at 1-10 each.

A first half goal from John Hayes was the difference between the teams at half time, with the Ross lads leading at the break on a scoreline of 1-7 to 0-7. In the second half Ballincollig scored a goal of their own to reduce the lead. Going into the final few minutes of the game Ross were leading by a single point and looked like holding on for a win until Ballincollig won a free deep into injury time to level the game.
