Under 16 Footballers
The under 16 footballers had a great win over Midleton in the semi final of the premier 2 county championship on Saturday evening last September 19th, in Riverstick on a final score of 4-10 to 3-6.

The Ross lads started well and took an early lead with points from Fintan Barrett and John Hodnett. This was then followed up by a goal from Paul Hodnett, who also scored the second goal of the game just before half time after some good work with John Hodnett. A fine double save from John Paul Eady prevented a Midelton goal and a well organised defense kept the Midleton forwards to four first half points. With the team now on top, points from Fintan Barrett, John Hodnett, Patrick Hurley and midfielder Mark Hodnett completed the first half scoring to leave Ross leading at half time on a score of 2-6 to 0-4.

In the second half two more goals from Mark Hodnett and John O'Brien along with two points from both Christ Prendergast and John O'Brien and another from John Hodnett were enough to withstand a late rally from the Midleton lads who scored three goals to reduce the lead. The Ross lads went on to win on a final score of 4-10 to 3-6 and are now into the county final, this game has yet to be fixed.
