Underage Football
Carbery Rangers under 16 footballers played Glanmire in the first round of the premier 2 championship in Cloughduv last Tuesday night and had a good win on a final score of 3-12 to 1-10.
Following on from the success of the under 14 footballers in winning their premier 2 football championship the previous night. This team sent out a clear message of intent to their opponents by scoring two early goals from team captain John Hodnett and they then continued in this vein up till half-time, where they lead on a score line of 2-6 to 1-4. In the second half they consolidated their position, before a third goal from John Hodnett and a flurry of late points ensured that they emerged victorious on a score of 3-12 to 1-10.

Hard luck to the under 13 footballers who also were in action over the weekend, they played Gabriel Rangers in the league and lost on a final score of 4-8 to 6-6.

Underage Hurling
Well done to St. Fachtna's under 14 hurlers who won their recent first round championship game against St. Patricks on a final score of 1-14 to 3-6.
St Fachtna's had a strong start to the game and pulled clear of their opponents to lead by 13 points at half time, but in the second half St. Patricks came back into the game with goals as well as points, but in the end St. Fachtna's won by 2 points.

St. Fachtna's minor hurler's were also in championship action and had a good win over Bandon on a final score of 7-12 to 2-6. They now play the winners between Kilbrittain and Pedlar's Cross in the semi final.

We had no winner of this week's jackpot, the numbers drawn were 4, 13 and 16. Consolation prizes: €50 Rory Hicks, Ballincarriga; €30 Gareth Jones, Youghal; €20 Kevin & Ann Murphy, Gullane. Next weeks draw will take place in Reenascreena with a jackpot of €3,400.
