Senior Football Championship
Hard luck to the senior footballers who were beaten by Valley Rovers in the first round of the senior championship on Monday night last in Ballinascarthy on a final score of 2-10 to 0-14. They now await the losers of the Castlehaven and Clyda Rovers game in the next round.

Ross started the game well and lead at half time on a score of 0-10 to 0-5. Ross were unlucky to lose both midfielders Michael Mennis and James Fitzpatrick early in the game to injuries. In the second half Ross were in control of the game and with 10 minutes to go were leading by 6 points. But a Valleys goal and points reduced the lead to a single point with time up and in a hectic finish to the game the referee awarded a penalty to Valley Rovers. Paul Shanahan saved this but the rebound fell nicely to the Valleys forward who punched home the goal to leave Ross trailing by 2 points with time up, final score 2-10 to 0-14.

Team: Paul Shanahan, Stephen Murray, Brian Shanahan, Anthony Roche, Thomas O'Rourke, Padraig Hodnett, Robbie Kiely, Michael mennis, James Fitzpatrick, Alan Jennings, John Hayes, Cathal O'Rourke, Declan Hayes, Seamus Hayes, Chris O'Donovan. Subs used: Kieran Fitzpatrick, Robert Hegarty, Jerry O'Riordan.
