Senior Football County Final
Hard luck to the senior footballers who were beaten by Ballincollig on Sunday in the county final. This was a historic day for the club and well done to the team, the management and all involved for getting to the county final.

Ross playing with the advantage of the wind, got off to a great start with points from John O'Rourke, Stephen Murray, Seamus Hayes, Brian Shanahan and two from John Hayes in the first 11 minutes of the game before Ballincollig replied with 2 points. This was followed up with a John Hayes free, a good point from Séamus and a '45 from Brian Shanahan made it 0-9 to 0-2 for Carbery Rangers. Ballincollig then took over for the rest of the half and scored 6 unanswered points to leave Ross leading at the break by a single point on a scoreline of 0-9 to 0-8.

Ross started the second half well and a great run and shot on goal from Padraig Hodnett resulted in the ball coming back off the cross bar, where Seamus Hayes was on hand to fist the ball to the Ballincollig net to increase their lead to 4 points. Ballincollig responded well to this set back with a point of their own and then a goal from John Kelly leveled the game. Ross then lost midfielder James Fitzpatrick to a head injury and his replacement Sean O'Neill with his first touch of the game got a point to put Ross back in the lead, this was Ross's last score of the game. Ballincollig playing with a strong wind took advantage and scored 4 points to win on a final score of 1-13 to 1-10.
