Under 14 County Final
The under 14 footballers were narrowly beaten by Midleton in the replay of the premier 2 county final by a single point last Thursday night in Cloughduv on a final score of 3-11 to 4-07.

Ross had the advantage of the wind in the first half and took full advantage of this, they had a great start to the game and were well on top in the first half with goals from Darragh Hayes and James O'Riordan before Midleton opened their account with a point. Patrick Hurley and Darragh Hayes got a point each and Fintan Barrett struck for Ross's third goal of the game. Fintan Barrett followed up his goal with a well taken point and Paul Hodnett completed the Ross scoring in the first half with another point. Midleton struck for a goal against the run of play just before the half time whistle to leave Ross leading at half time on a score of 3-04 to 1-01.

In the second half Midleton had the advantage of the wind and came more into the game and started to reduce the Ross lead scoring ten points in total. Points from Cathal Keane, Paul Hodnett and Fintan Barrett helped Ross to stay in front. Going into the last 5 minutes of the game Ross held a 2 point lead, but 2 goals from Midleton left Ross trailing by 4 points with time almost up. A great Ross move saw a Darragh Hayes goal bound effort saved by the Midleton keeper but the rebound came to Ciaran Calnan who finished to the net to leave the bare minimum between the teams. Ross pushed forward in search of another score but the Midleton backs held firm to win on a final score of 3-11 to 4-07.
