County Junior B Hurling Championship
Hard luck to the Junior hurlers who were beaten by Bantry Blues in the County Junior B Hurling Championship last Saturday night in Aughaville on a final score of 1-06 to 1-05.

Bantry were quick to settle and lead by 3 points before Cathal Prendergast got the first Ross point from a free. Padraig Hicks followed this up with a great point from play to leave a single point between the teams. Bantry finished the first half scoring and lead at half time on a score of 0-4 points to 0-2.

Ross started well in the second half and by the 10th minute of the half were back on level terms with 2 points from frees by Ronan Milner. Shortly after this Bantry had an effort on goal that was well saved by Paul Shanahan but the ball fell to a Bantry forward to score a goal. Bantry added 2 more points to the score, leaveing Ross trailing by 1-02 going into the last 15 minutes. Ross pushed forward looking for a goal but good defending from Bantry kept them out.

In the 24th minute of the game a serious injury to a Bantry player held play up. Due to this injury over eight minutes of injury time was played. The final score of the game came went to Ross in the second minute of injury time following a good run by centre back Padraig Hodnett, the final score Bantry 1-06, Carbery Rangers 0-5.
