Night At the Dogs
There was a big turn out last Friday night at the Dogs in Curraheen
Park, which made it a very enjoyable night for all. Well done to the organising committee and all involved in making it such a successful night.

The senior footballers played Ilen
Rovers on Sunday last in the Kelleher Shield and lost by a goal on a final score of 1-09 to 0-09.

The next round of the Kelleher Shield game is fixed for Friday the 4th of April, in Rosscarbery against Naomh Aban at 6.45pm.
Minor footballers
The Minor team had their second league game on Sunday morning last against Ahan Gaels in Ballineen. Ross started brightly and with the defence and midfield on top, managed to lead at half time on a score of 1-5 to 0-2. On the turnover Ahan Gaels  came more into the game, but in a very good team performance Ross finished winners on a final score of 2-05 to 1-05.

Underage Training

The next training session for the Under 6 and Under 8's will take place in Mount St Michael Secondary School Sports complex between 7pm and 8pm on Friday night April 4th.  Outdoor training will then begin the following Saturday, April the 12th at 11am in Newtown.
Scór na bPáistí Final 2014
Ovens Hall was packed to capacity  for the staging of the Scór Na bPaistí County final on Saturday, March 29th. It was a night to remember for our local participants who represented their clubs with outstanding performances.
Lewis Murphy, Caolan Hayes, Colm Hayes, Darragh Calnan, Seamas O’Mahony, Mary Kate Hennessy, Kate Whelton and Ellen O’Hea under the mentorship of Breda Hurley gave a tremendous performance of ‘The Salmon of Knowledge’ and won second place in the Leiriú competition. Aoife McSweeney, Orla O’Gorman and Kate Creedon under the mentorship of Eileen Mc Sweeney gave a powerful performance in the Ballad group competition and narrowly missed out.
Many thanks to family and friends who supported all the participants since the first competition that started back on January 19th. With that the curtains came down on Scór 2014.

Charity Road Race

A Road Race in aid of the Irish Cancer Society will take place in Rosscarbery at 2pm on Sunday April 13thWalk, Jog or Run. Registration will be in the Social Services centre from 12 noon on the day, with the race starting and ending in the Square.  For more information on this event go to Facebook page Ross 10k 2014 or call 023-8831980.


We had no winner of this week's jackpot; the numbers drawn were 1, 15 and 27. Consolation prizes: €50 Margurite
