The senior footballers are through to the quarter- final of this years Senior Championship after they defeated St. Finbarr’s by 5 points last weekend.
The Ross lads were out of the blocks from the off and with John Hayes in great scoring form led by 4 points to 2, then in the 15 minute Sean O’Neill scored the opening goal after  good build up play by Ross. Further scores from Hayes and John O’Rourke saw the half-time score Carbery Ranger 1-07 St. Finbarrs 0-04.
The start of the second period saw the Barrs enjoy their best part of the game when they reduced the lead to just 2 points. But with 4 unanswered points put Ross back in command there was no denying Carbery Rangers their win and a place in the next round against the winners of CIT or Bishopstown.
Final score Carbery Rangers 1-14 St. Finbarrs 1-09.
